The Coalition for Retirement Security has vowed to make pension security a national issue that must be addressed by our lawmakers. We created the "Pension Scorecard" during the last election campaign and distributed it to every member of Congress. Since then, our Coalition members have been asking their elected representatives to respond to the Scorecard.

Our Coalition is asking everyone concerned with pension security to contact their representative and senators and secure their responses. Review the Scorecard question below and identify where you stand on the issues.

Then click here for a special web page with the ten questions. Print them out, and send them to your members of Congress. See if they agree with your views. Mail the Coalition their responses. We will publish them here on our website. If there are additional pension questions you believe ought to be included, be sure to let us know.

Ten Key Questions on America's Pensions

1. Should companies be allowed to raid pension plans?

2. Should retirees' pensions be adjusted for inflation?

3. Should widows' (and widowers') benefits be limited to one-half of a retiree's pension?

4. Do you think employers should substitute worker-paid savings plans for company-paid pension plans?

5. Should workers and retirees have a say in where their money is invested?

6. Do you think there should be a government agency that helps people wrongly denied their pensions?

7. Do you think workers should be allowed to take their pensions with them from job to job?

8. Do you think that pensions should be automatically divided at divorce unless the couple agrees otherwise?

9. Do you think all workers should have pensions above Social Security?

10. Do you think there should be stiffer penalties for mismanaging pension money?
