			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The statistical office of the European Union (EU), Eurostat, has resulted in a number irrefutable fact, Spain was in February 2009 the unemployment rate highest in the European Union (EU) with 15.5%.</p>
<p>This puts Spain porcental well above the average of the block, which was 7.9% and the average of the Eurozone, where the rate was set at 8.5% in February.</p>
<p>While unfortunate, since a number that leads our country to lead these painful figures, approaching slowly, countries like Latvia (14.4%) and Lithuania (13.7%). On the opposite side of The Netherlands is located in an enviable 2.7%.</p>
<p>Moreover, Spain has experienced a major increase in Europe, with a 9.3% increase since February 2008, only surpassed by Lithuania and Latvia. In interannual terms, these figures fell who was Bulgaria, from 6.2% to 5.5%.</p>
<p>These data make clear the creciemiento in the unemployment rate for the continent in terms, since a year ago, the percentage of unemployed population in the block of countries with the single currency was 7.2%, while in the EU was 6.8%.</p>
<p>It also has shown that employment was destroyed in February, with two tenths of promotions in the euro area, compared to 8.3% in January and one in the group of 27, compared to 7.8% which recorded in the first month of the year.</p>
<p>By sector of the population:</p>
<p>Among men:</p>
<p>     * Eurozone rose 6.5% to 8.1% in interannual rate<br />
     * EU did 6.2% to 7.8%</p>
<p>Among women:</p>
<p>     * Eurozone: rose from 8.2% to 8.9% in the euro area<br />
     * EU did 7.4% to 8%</p>
<p>One of the most worrisome was the high rate among young people under 25 years, with 17.3% in the euro area and 17.5% in the EU27. As in the rest, Spain was ranked first in the continent with 31.8% of its assets in youth unemployment.</p>
